Steve Jobs Introducing The iPhone At MacWorld 2007 (by superapple4ever)
We’re making iPhone software primarily for three reasons:
Dogfooding: We use iPhones ourselves. Installed base: A ton of other people already have iPhones. Profitability: There’s potentially a lot of money in iPhone apps.
Well that was fast! Google VP of Engineering Vic Gundrota demoed the new mobile Gmail/Calendar apps at last week’s Web 2.0 Expo, and now the same features are available for iPhone/Android users.
GEEK ALERT! This slick implementation is impressive because it’s built using HTML5.
I can personally vouch for the awesomeness of the At Bat 2009 iPhone/iPod Touch app. It was great last year, but the addition of audio feeds makes this an insanely beautiful app.
All these rags-to-riches stories are nice, but the true genius of the App Store is the platform. Apple is taking a 30% fee for lightning in a bottle success. Unreal (in a good way).
